Drummer Paul Bostaph Has Replaced Dave Lombardo In Slayer

This has been one hectic year for Slayer. From the dismissal of their drummer Dave Lombardo to the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Now they have announced Paul Bostaph as full-time drummer for the band.

As we recall Slayer had a contractual argument with Dave Lombardo and temporarily replaced him with Jon Dette for the Australian tour. Slayer has decided to move on with the bad though. This time without founding member Dave  Lombardo. Bostaph is reclaiming the drum spot. He will be playing with Slayer in their international tour which kicks off in Warsaw, Poland.

Only frontman Tom Araya has spoken out on Bostaph's return. He said, "Paul’s a great drummer and a good friend, and we’re very happy that he's decided to rejoin the band. We're still pretty numb from the loss of Jeff, but we don't want to disappoint our European and South American fans, and we need to begin moving forward … having Paul back in the band makes that a whole lot easier."

Bostaph also added by saying, "I'm very excited to be rejoining Slayer. We spent a very intense ten years of our lives together, had a lot of fun, made a lot of great music, so for me, this feels like coming home."

This change of drummers is not surprising at all, well to me it isn't. I just didn't think that it would happen so soon.  I think it's not really fair to replace Dave Lombardo if it was because of that argument they had. He is a founding member! Paul Bostaph is a good drummer but I think that spot belongs to Dave.
